Skin Mounted Fish
1) When caught, put fish immediately into live well, bucket of water or ice chest. (DO NOT let fish flop in bottom of boat or on the bank. Also, don't let fish dry out. If placing fish in ice chest, add water - this will keep fins and tail from drying out.)
2) Take pictures of fish a.s.a.p. This will give me the guidelines for color and markings.
3) Wrap fish in 3 or 4 garbage bags, make sure they are air tight. Now place fish in freezer. DO NOT freeze fish in a block of water. It is not necessary to wrap fish in a wet towel prior to freezing.
4) If properly preserved, fish will keep in freezer up to 6 months.
